Why not join VSDC?

Reasons not to be a member or not to participate

I didn't know about VSDC.
Welcome. Let us know if you have any questions about us.
I don't live in the District of Columbia.
VSDC exists for people in the whole Washington DC metropolitan area, including Virginia, Maryland, and DC.  The name was chosen when our organization was formed in 1927.
I am not vegetarian.
You don't need to be vegetarian to be a member or attend events.
I don't care if I or others adopt a plant-based diet.
Learn the many benefits of a plant-based diet, to yourself, society, animals, and the environment.

Reasons not to be a member

I don't know if I'd enjoy VSDC activities.
You may attend activities without being a member of VSDC.
I don't want my name and other information given to others.
VSDC does not share or sell member information.
I don't want to receive printed mailings, such as the VSDC newsletter.
You may opt out of receiving mailings from us.  You may select to receive only our monthly email.
I don't want to be a member.
If you don't want to be a member, but want to support the mission of VSDC, you can just tell us or donate money, although you won't receive any member-only benefits.
I don't know how to join.
Complete the membership form, and mail it to VSDC.
I can attend events without joining.
Read about the benefits of joining and supporting VSDC.
I do not want to be involved in educating others about a plant-based diet.
Read about the other benefits of joining and supporting VSDC.
Being vegetarian is too difficult.
VSDC is working to make being vegetarian easier.
I disagree with something about VSDC.
Please tell us your thoughts.
I can't or don't want to participate.
No need to participate.  There are other benefits of joining.  See Reasons not to participate, next.

Reasons not to participate

I am not a member.
For most activities, you don't need to be a member.  See Reasons not to be a member, above.
I'm interested in different activities.
Suggest other activities, and volunteer to coordinate them.
I have difficulty getting to events.
Maybe there are things you can do in your own way on your own time at a location convenient to you.

If you can think other reasons not to be a VSDC member or participant, let us know.
