VSDC ongoing jobs

Listed here are ongoing volunteer jobs within VSDC.  Help is needed with most of them.  If you see one with which you might want to be involved, let us know.  After you find a task, we will help you do it.

Volunteers drive VSDC.  We pay for a few services, and grants pay for some programs, but volunteers do everything else.  Because VSDC is run by volunteers, we depend on our members to help us reach our goals.  Our plans are adjusted based on our supply of volunteers.

Elsewhere on this website are more detailed job descriptions, and a list of coordinating volunteers.

Group events

Our events that occur regularly are listed on our Groups and Recurring Events page.  Plus, we occassionally have other event, some annually.

All these events, from idea to organizing to hosting, depend on volunteers.  Annual events require many volunteers throughout the year.  Anyone can volunteer to do as little or as much as they want, all or part of an activity.  Each event needs volunteers to:

To help event volunteers, VSDC has resources, including written instructions and these two volunteers:

Coordinators organize gatherings, help hosts and other volunteers, provide information, and for some recurring events, maintain a list of people who want to be notified about upcoming activities.

Suggestions for group activities are welcome, especially from people who want to host or coordinate them.  It can be an activity that happens once, or one that occurs on a regular basis.  Some possibilities for social activities include dancing, hiking, eating, and touring.  You could have a potluck gathering, restaurant visit, or video presentation.  Another idea is group volunteering for a worthy cause.  An event can be instructional or entertaining.  It can be a lecture, demonstration, or other presentation.  It could be directed to a specific group, such as parents or singles, or people with a specific interest.  It could involve other groups, including those within and outside VSDC.

To volunteer, or suggest an activity or location, contact VSDC.
