Bring your business to the vegetarian community, and bring customers to your business. Many people are actively seeking businesses that provide vegetarian options. Helping you to attract those people is the purpose of this page, allowing your business to benefit from the rapid growth in the vegetarian market.
Some of these ideas are through the Vegetarian Society of the District of Columbia (VSDC). Through VSDC's newsletter, mailings, website, events, and outreach, VSDC interacts with many potential customers, not limited to its nearly 900 members.
Tell people how you cater to vegetarian preferences, giving them reasons to come to you. Tell VSDC, as you might qualify to be included in VSDC's popular lists of local businesses that are more vegetarian friendly than similar businesses. And tell your existing customers and passersby about vegetarian options you offer. Use a sign visible from outside your business. Inside, clearly indicate which options are vegetarian.
Give discounts to VSDC members who show their membership card. Provide an extra incentive for people to try your business. The list of businesses participating in the VSDC GreenRewards™ program is on the web, mailed to new VSDC members, and listed in VSDC's newsletter.

Schedule a day when you will donate a percentage of your proceeds to VSDC, who will spread the word about the event and your business.
Donate a product, service, or gift certificate to be given away as a prize to participants at an event. Prizes and contributors are announced to everyone present and mentioned in VSDC's newsletter and website. Or, provide samples of your product to be given to all attendees.
Host a VSDC activity, such as a discussion, meeting, lecture, social gathering, or restaurant visit. VSDC will publicize and coordinate the event.
A business providing more vegetarian options attracts vegetarians, vegans, "almost" vegetarians, and people simply exploring vegetarian or healthful options. Grow your business by being more vegetarian friendly.
Most contributions to VSDC are acknowledged in their newsletter and website. Help VSDC support people in your community who choose vegetarian. Tell your customers about VSDC, such as by displaying VSDC's brochure. And, VSDC welcomes donations of money, goods, and services.
