The VSDC Life-Affirming Thanksgiving is an annual event that brings together vegetarians and non-vegetarians to enjoy compassionate and healthy food and a wonderful social setting.
So join us to celebrate with hundreds of people with a gourmet, all-vegan feast at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda in Bethesda, MD, on Thursday, November 26, 2015. The programming includes a guest speaker, exhibitors, exciting door prizes, a silent auction fundraiser, and a live musical act following lunch.
We will also offer an all-ages kids activity between 12-1pm.
We are delighted to welcome Terry Cummings, director and co-founder of Poplar Spring AnimalSanctuary as our keynote speaker. Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary is a 400 acre non-profit refuge for farm animals and wildlife located in Poolesville, Maryland. Their mission is to offer care, rehabilitation, and permanent sanctuary for neglected, abused or abandoned farm animals, to provide protected habitat for wildlife, to furnish information to the public regarding farm animal and wildlife issues, and to promote compassion and humane treatment for all animals. Terry will tell us about the wonderful animals at the sanctuary and share pictures and stories of their now joyful lives.
Musical guest, Stephen Svoboda will return to enterain us on acoustic guitar, playing flamenco and boss nova music.
And what is Thanksgiving without spectacular, abundant food! Our delicious menu is given below so plan to come at noon for registration and appetizers. The meal starts just after 1:00 pm. Details for the 2015 event are being finalized and you can read updates on this webpage.
