The VSDC Life-Affirming Thanksgiving is an annual event that brings together vegetarians and non-vegetarians to enjoy compassionate and healthy food and a wonderful social setting.
Celebrate Thanksgiving Day with hundreds of people enjoying a gourmet vegan
feast at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda in Bethesda, MD. The programming includes
exciting door prizes, a silent auction fundraiser, guest speaker, exhibitors,
and a live musical act following lunch. This has been a very successful event
for years so we feel confident that you will leave pleased again this year! The
2012 Thanksgiving event set a record attendance of more than 300 people.
We are excited that our guest speaker for this year's event will be Elizabeth

You must register in advance, as
absolutely no walk-in
registrations. Please note that our event has sold out in recent years, so register early to
confirm your seat. All registrations are final, but you can transfer the
registration to someone else if you
notify us by Friday, November 15.
There are two options for registration: online registration via PayPal (option
1) and mail-in registration (option 2).
Regardless of how you register, you will receive a final confirmation email by
Tuesday, November 19, at the latest. If you have not received a confirmation for
your registration by that date, please

You can register online by using the PayPal button below through 9:00 am on
Tuesday, November 19. You will receive a confirmation immediately upon
receipt of payment. The prices (including tax and gratuity) if you pay online
are listed below.
Option 2: Mail-In Registration

If you prefer to mail a check, print the
registration form and send it in
with your check to the address on the form. Your envelope must be postmarked by
Tuesday, November 12. Your
registration is not confirmed until we receive your check and send you a
VSDC maintains an open seating policy; therefore, it's ideal to arrive
shortly after 12:00 pm, especially if you have a group of 3 or more. We will
have special seating sections (e.g., tables marked for Singles, Family, or
special needs). If you have a preference, please include special table requests
with your registration and we’ll do our best to honor them.

Washington Humane Society has been the DC area’s leading voice of compassion
for pets and wildlife since 1870 -- yes, 1870! WHS provides comfort
and care to nearly 30,000 animals each year through monetary and in-kind
donations. VSDC will accept donations from the
Washington Humane Society's wish list at our Thanksgiving event.
Others May Eat (SOME) is a community-based organization that exists to
help the poor and homeless of our nation's capital. They meet the immediate
daily needs of the people they serve with food, clothing, and health care,
in addition to services to help break the cycle of homelessness. VSDC will
be collecting nonperishable vegan food items for SOME’s
food bank. Please note that SOME requests that food donations be
nonperishable and as healthy as possible. They cannot accept canned soups
that are not labeled low-fat, low-sodium.
