VSDC Exhibiting at Taking Action for Animals
June 17-19, 2016 (Fri / Sat / Sun)
VSDC will be an exhibitor at the Taking Action for Animals Conference from June 17-19, promoting the benefits of an all-plant/vegan diet and lifestyle... for our health, the planet, and the animals. We encourage our members and friends to attend any and all of this three day conference at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City! It will include educational workshops and plenary sessions, an exhibit hall with numerous organizations committed to improving the world for animals, and multiple networking receptions.
From the conference organizers: The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) presents Taking Action for Animals, the premier national conference for animal advocacy. If you’re passionate about helping animals but don’t know where to start, TAFA is for you! TAFA brings together diverse individuals from across the country for a shared goal: to improve the lives of all animals. You’ll gain a better understanding of the many issues that animals face in our society, and you’ll learn that helping animals can begin right in your own home... your neighborhood...your community – with just a few rewarding and fun activities. From seasoned advocates to newcomers TAFA has something for everyone.

Hyatt Regency Bethesda
The DC VegFest at Yards Park was another wonderful success! An estimated 10,000 people brought their smiles and were the sunshine for another great event on Saturday, October 3, from 11 am to 6 pm. Founded by the Vegetarian Society of DC in 1997 and hosted by our wonderful friends at Compassion Over Killing, this FREE festival highlighted the many benefits and joys of choosing veganism in our world today. We hope you had as much fun as we did and will see you there again next year!
The Vegetarian Society of DC is excited to revitalize its Cooking Classes!
The classes are completely vegan and at low cost, with a further discount for VSDC members. VSDC will include food demonstrations of three simple, creative, and healthy dishes, a Q&A, a short segment on good nutrition, food sampling of the prepared items, and time to mingle and socialize. See calendar on our Meetup page for upcoming classes.
VSDC events are open to all members and non-members, vegetarians, vegans, future vegetarians, casual vegetarians, and all others but we encourage you to join us to support vegetarian living in the DC area.

VSDC members receive our award-winning quarterly newsletter, VSDC News, and receive valuable discounts at many area restaurants and other businesses through our VSDC GreenRewards®  Discount Program. Welcome to our newest GreenRewards® members:
