VSDC annual meeting – Saturday, December 3, 2016
VSDC held its annual meeting where we reviewed our past year’s accomplishments, heard program updates from our dedicated volunteers and coordinators, discussed future plans, and ate and networked.

Life Affirming-Thanksgiving Gala
The VSDC Life-Affirming Thanksgiving Was once again a festive, annual event that brought together ~330 vegans, vegetarians and non-vegetarians to enjoy a delicious, abundant, gourmet vegan meal.
Thursday, November 24, 2016, 12-4 pm at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda (above the Bethesda Red line Metro station)
Our featured speaker was Neal Barnard, M.D., F.A.C.C., founder of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and Barnard Medical Center. The programming also included live music, exhibitors, exciting door prizes, and a silent auction fundraiser.
VSDC is a proud Carrot Top Sponsor of DC VegFest. Founded by VSDC in 1997 and hosted by our wonderful friends at Compassion Over Killing, this free festival highlights the many benefits and joys of choosing veganism. More than 15,000 people enjoyed the largest vegetarian celebration in the nation’s capital, with food, speakers, cooking demonstration, kids’ activities, and more.

VSDC organizes community-building activities each month to include include African-American networking group, LGBTQ group, children’s playgroup, book club, restaurant visits, singles group, cooking classes, our annual vegan Thanksgiving feast, and more. Our events are open to members and non-members.
